Harrisonburg

Hillandale Park -- Located on Hillandale Avenue, this 75 acre park has 12 picnic shelters, new playground, a 13 mile walking trail, a regulation sand volleyball court, two asphalt basketball courts, horseshoe pitching areas, a reproduction log cabin, and restrooms.

Westover Park -- This 48 acre park is the central hub for the Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation Department. This park is home to the Westover Swimming Pool Complex, the Cecil F. Gilkerson Community Center, Westover Skate Park, and a new Disc Golf Course. Also included are four picnic shelters, a playground area and the Senior Citizens Center.

Purcell Park -- This 67 acre park is located on Monument Avenue and South Main Street. The park has three softball/baseball fields with concession stand, Kids Castle playground, three picnic shelters, four tennis courts, a walking trail, and restrooms.

Morrison Park -- This newly renovated six acre park is located on the corner of 2nd Street and Willow Street. Features include a basketball court, large playground area, two tennis courts and restrooms.

Ralph Sampson Park -- This 32 acre park is located on East Washington Street. This park has one picnic shelter, tennis courts, a basketball court, newly renovated playground equipment, horseshoe pits, and restroom facilities.

Rockingham County

Albert Long Park -- Located on Rte 710 (Ridge Road) off Port Republic. Little League baseball field with one picnic and parking area.

Singers Glen Community Recreation Center -- Baseball/softball field, playground equipment, barbecue pit, gym, kitchen.

Grand Caverns Regional Park -- Located near Grottoes this park area holds numerous programs and activities coordinated by the Recreation Department.

State/National

Shenandoah National Park/Blue Ridge Parkway -- Just a short drive and you will be gazing across the horizon from the peaks of Shenandoah National Park. Take Skyline Drive along the crest of the mountains through the woods and past spectacular vistas. Enjoy virtually unlimited hiking and camping along the Appalachian Trail.
