Geri Barker

Geri and her family moved to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley from Tampa, Florida in 1998.  They lived on a small farm on the Shenandoah River in the eastern side of the county until recently when, after becoming empty-nesters, they moved into the city of Harrisonburg, near JMU. She has been in the Real Estate business for over 30 years.

As a newcomer to the area, she lends support to families RELOCATING to the area.  Her children were in the 4th, 8th, and college grade level when they moved from Tampa, Florida, so she can relate to the issues parents face and fear when moving.  Her story on why her family CHOSE to move to Harrisonburg gives potential newcomers a peace and calm in helping make their decision to move here.  She gives great tours of the area and offers humorous stories about her family’s new adventures!
